MY STORY
Mia Charnelle (they/them) is an artist from Northeast Portland, Oregon, and is currently based in Los Angeles. As a photographer and creative director, Mia’s work employs Black visual aesthetics and portraiture to critically explore blackness, disability, gender, sexuality, and fatness.
Their work has been featured in She Shreds Magazine, 10th Magazine, and Dream Fever Magazine.
Mia has been a Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability 2023 Emerge Fellow and an Artist-in-Residence at the Black Image Center Bey/Weems Residency.
